This is a graphite drawing that paradoxically visualizes immaterial values—such as the accumulation of time and the anchoring of memory—through the hyper-material and artificial motif of tightly interlocked bolts and nuts.

While the mechanical structure in the foreground asserts a solid physical presence through stark contrast and raw, tactile textures, the ambiguous and blurred tonal gradations in the background mirror the intangible trajectories of fleeting emotions and distorted memories. The firmly tightened bolt transcends its utilitarian function, serving as a symbolic anchor for the emotional states we strive to hold onto amidst the fluid passage of time.

The interplay between the deep, dense graphite rendering and the soft, atmospheric smudging creates a powerful visual tension between the material and the immaterial, the distinct and the obscure. Ultimately, this work prompts viewers to question the invisible dimensions that exist just beyond the surface of physical forms.
