미술유학_근원(根源)의 맥 (The Pulse of the Source)

 

본 작업은 공공의 공간 내에서 물질과 비물질, 고정과 흐름의 관계성을 탐구하는 장소 특정적 설치 작업이다.

공원의 중심에 자리한 거대하고 정형화된 콘크리트 구조물은 대지의 단단한 무게감을 대변하며, 그 중심부로부터 유기적으로 뻗어나가는 구불구불한 물길들은 고정된 물리적 형태에 '흐름'이라는 시간적, 동적인 요소를 부여한다. 나무의 뿌리처럼, 혹은 대지의 혈관처럼 사방으로 퍼져나가는 이 통로들은 자연환경(흙, 나무, 낙엽)과 인공적 구조물 사이의 경계를 모호하게 만든다.

중앙의 원천에서 시작된 흐름은 주변의 자연을 향해 나아가며 끊임없이 순환하고 변화하는 시간의 속성을 시각화한다. 관람객은 이 단단한 물질적 통로를 따라 시선을 이동하며, 그 안에 담긴 비물질적인 유동성과 자연과의 교감을 경험하게 된다.

 

This site-specific installation explores the relationship between the material and the immaterial, permanence and fluidity within a public space.

The massive, structured concrete vessel situated at the center represents the solid weight of the earth. From this central source, meandering channels branch out organically, introducing a temporal and dynamic element of 'flow' to an otherwise static physical form. Spreading in all directions like tree roots or the veins of the earth, these pathways blur the boundaries between the artificial structure and the surrounding natural environment of soil, trees, and fallen leaves.

The movement originating from the central source visualizes the nature of time—constantly circulating and changing as it reaches toward nature. Viewers are invited to follow these rigid material channels, experiencing the immaterial fluidity and a deeper connection with the surrounding environment.
